Political Rantings Courtesy of Someone Who Hates Politics…

So apparently Sarah Palin is dropping another puck at a hockey game.  Am I the only one that wants to scratch my eyes out when I hear any news about what this annoying woman is doing?  I mean, I’m not a political person.  I think that, for the most part, all the candidates every year are irritatingly irrational people who will say anything to make people like them, but something about this woman is beyond my normal dislike.  I hate her!!  Her voice, that accent, how ridiculously stupid she is… I mean, Alaska?  How in the world is a woman from Alaska supposed to understand what’s going on around here, in the actual United States? Alaska is pretty much Canada, and I don’t know about you, but I don’t want a practically Canadian woman becoming vice president.

I don’t mean to be a bitch but… I wish she would just go back to watching her Soap Operas and Opera, being a “hockey mom” back in Alaska, watching over her knocked up teenage daughter, and leave us the hell alone! Seriously, if I wasn’t already rooting for Obama because of the fact that McCain is, like, 170 years old, then I would because of this offensive woman who by no means represents me.

…to be honest, though, Obama has excellent views on woman’s rights.  I’m sure deep down he is, like all politicians, a terrible person, but he seems like the best damn terrible person out there.

Sorry to inflict my political views on you but, seriously, I hate her.

Confessions pt. 2

So on the topic of confessions, I have one that I have just realized… It took me awhile, but it is now safe to say that I, Korey, am in love with Craig Rivet.

Craig will now take questions concerning my love for him

"I am honored that Korey has chosen me as her favorite Sabre."

Phew, I feel better now.

I have a confession to make

A horrible, embarrassing confession.  You see, I love to read.  That’s not my confession; I’m pretty sure that anyone who takes the time to write a blog likes to read.  I love to read classics from Jane Austen to Charles Dickens, i love nonfiction (history books… yes, I minored in History, I’m a closet nerd), mysteries, easy-reading literature to thick-and-takes-you-about-a-month-to-finish-literature, and horrors.  (i don’t read fantasy or science-fiction.  Sorry just doesn’t interest me.)

Through all my life, I have been able to say that there is one group of books that I will not go near.  Trashy and useless, fluff and mind-numbing.  Well, my friends, I’m sad to say those days are behind me.  Yes, I have read, and enjoyed, my first romance book and I have bought another.

How can a seemingly well-rounded individual such as myself fall for such drivel, you ask?

Well, let me tell you… it was really, really enjoyable.  Sure, the plot lines were predictable and the characters were shallow, but it was entertaining, nontheless.  Happy endings and a feel-good-story… how can you go wrong?  Sure, if you want an interesting, thought-provoking read, look elsewhere.  If you are a hardworking individual (perferably a woman) who sometimes wants to get home from work and have a relaxing, enjoyable and easy time relaxing on your couch with a good book… maybe being a snob about romances are a waste of time after all.
